WHERE DID IT ALL BEGIN? WHY AM I COACH IN LEADERSHIP?

I was 18 years old when I moved to Paris to study business. Few days after my arrival, I went to the Trocadero, and stared intensively from there at the Eiffel Tower, from the same perspective as here on the picture. I then vowed out loud to myself: “I promise you Cécile, your life will be an adventure!”

It was almost a mystical promise, the one that doesn’t give you a rest, the one you have to follow no matter what. This promise led me to all kinds of extraordinary and amazing experiences, living in different countries, different continents, learning two foreign languages, traveling a lot, discovering different cultures, knowing amazing people…

When you set yourself up for such a life at 18, you are unconsciously setting yourself up for troubles i.e challenges and hardships. You renounce to the comfort of the security, of the known.

I had to learn to stay focused on my course, no matter what, no matter the sacrifices, the feelings sometimes of doubts, loneliness, exhaustion, pain. I had to stay on course like a sailor on the sea.

What I very soon realized was that this adventure was in fact all about discovering myself, connecting with who I truly am. That was my mystical promise. The most amazing thing is that by longing to meet myself, I ended up discovering and experiencing that we are all connected, that the idea of separation is actually an illusion. LIFE IS ALL INCLUSIVE.

Therefore, we all need each other as “fellow traveller” , we all need people with us on the journey of Life, to help us define what the next step is, to hold our back when needed, to seek guidance or answers, to receive and give care, tenderness, love, to have fun together. Life is not something you go through alone, at the same time “It is YOUR road and yours alone, others may walk it with you, but not one can walk it FOR you.” Rumi.

Being a coach in leadership i.e aiming at transforming Education at home, at school and at work along with a feeling of JOY and COMPASSION to the world is an expression of who I truly am in my core, it is the best way for me to share and give the gifts I have within me. THAT was ultimately the discovery of this young woman who, at the age of 18, was staring at the Eiffel tower.
